About the West Metro Synchronettes
The Synchronettes is a non-profit U.S. Synchronized Swimming (USSS) club that practices in the west metro area of the Twin Cities (Minneapolis and St. Paul) in Minnesota.
Synchronized swimming is a sport for swimmers who enjoy music, dance, and team camaraderie. Most of the swimmers join the club to learn new skills; have fun; and excel at local, regional and national levels. Swimmers work out 8 to 11 months a year based on their achievement at regional, zone, and national events. The club includes athletes between the ages of 7 and 19 who reside in 12-15 cities in the area.

Competitive Record
Since its formation in 1999, Synchronettes has achieved remarkable success. Each year the number of athletes and routines qualifying for higher-level championships has increased. For the past two years Synchronette athletes received the most medals among the competing clubs from four states at the Regional Championships. In addition, the club has qualified the most swimmers and routines for the next higher level of competition, the North Zone Championships. In 2004 Synchronettes tied for 3rd place among teams from 15 states at the North Zone Championships. In 2004 Synchronettes also qualified and competed as Finalists and received awards at two national level championships. Recently two Synchronettes qualified for the prestigious Phase 2-3 Junior National Team Trials for World Championships. The following charts summarize the increasing success of the club:

Conditioning Program for High School Varsity Swimmers
The club offers a conditioning program in the fall (Sept. - Dec.) and in the winter (Jan-Feb.) for varsity high school swimmers who want to build skills for the varsity season. High School Varsity Synchro is offered at a number of school districts in the area during a March - May season. Several swimmers on the Synchronettes competitive team also participate in the Varsity High School programs.
Summer Clinics
The club also offers a summer clinic in various west metro locations to share our expertise and enthusiasm for the sport. The summer clinic is designed for those interested in trying the sport for the first time as well as for swimmers who want to improve their existing synchro skills. We are committed to building the sport in the area.
